.:: SHE KNEW NO OTHER
WAY - OST ::. |
|
|
During
the summer of 1973, director Omiros Efstratiadis was
making a crime film called “She Knew No Other Way”.
The shots of the film took place in the cosmopolitan
Greek island of Rhodes where a bunch of hippies spend
their holidays. They seek an easy and carefree way of
life and do not hesitate to use any legal or illegal
mean in order to get it.
The director
needed a film score to match with the psychedelic scenes
of the film which where overshadowed by a psychotic
mixture of sex and violence. Mike Rozakis was the ideal
composer for this film score. Carrying an excellent
background in beat music, he managed to filter his
influences through the fusion trends of jazz and his
classical learning.
There is a wealth of styles throughout the film
score. Funky breaks, jazzy grooves, fusion improvising
and psychedelic effects. The innovative arrangements are
enriched by the skilful performance of the musicians
creating a unique avant-garde score.
The sound has been transferred from the original
master tapes in 96kh/24bit and mastered in class-A
equipment in order to produce excellent audio quality.
***The CD also features the Video-Clip "LA DISCOTHEQUE"
with shots from
the film**

MAN FOR ALL THE DOINGS - OST ::.

Τhe film score for this
cosmopolitan 1965 film was made by the young but uprising
at that time composer George Theodossiadis.
Being one of the pioneers in
Jazz in Greece, he “tied” the scenes with compositions
that were able to create images of suspense, melancholy
and eroticism, filtered through a lounge atmosphere.
The composer used the “crème
de la crème” of the Greek musicians who were into the Jazz
culture. He created characteristic themes and gave the
freedom to the musicians to improvise and reveal their
skills.
As a result, this soundtrack
reflects the Jazz movement in Greece during the mid-60s,
with a blend of exotic jazz-tunes, swinging themes and
smooth melodies.
It is remarkable that during
the recording session, Vangelis Papathanassiou himself
(who became later world-wide famous as Vangelis) being a
friend with the composer, helped in the special effects in
track Espial Corridor.
The sound has been
transferred from the original master tapes in 96kh/24bit
and mastered in class-A equipment in order to produce
excellent audio quality.

Potfleur initiates the vintage series, coded as POT,
with a compilation soundtrack, Greek Cinema 1, from
the cult Greek cinema. It is a selection of instrumental
soundtrack music from four films: The Lunatic Is Well
(1968), Air-Hostess (1971), Gynaecocracy (1973) and
Fiery Holidays (1976).
The music for these films was composed
and arranged by the important Greek composer George
Theodossiadis.
Greek Cinema 1 is a unique voyager to the
jet-set Mediterranean sounds. It is an audio experience
with the "feel" and "smell" of the
late 60s and early 70s. The groovy tracks make the body
move on the bass lines, and the easy cosmopolitan mid-tempos
create an erotic mood.
The sound has been transferred from the
original master tapes in 96kh/24bit and mastered in
class-A equipment in order to produce excellent audio
quality.
Greek Cinema 1 is also available in a limited
edition of 500 copies with different sleeve and with
the title Fluted Vibrator.

Greek Cinema 2 is the second volume of the compilation
soundtracks that
offer unreleased music from the 60s and 70s cult Greek
cinema. The tracks
have been selected from four early 70s movies: Sinners
(1971), Captives Of
Odium (1971), With Fear And Passion (1972) and The Ultimate
Double Cross
(1972). The music for these films was composed
and arranged by the famous Greek composer George Hadjinassios.
Greek Cinema 2 gives the definition of
the Ultimate soundtrack sound. The
music is dramatic, erotic and mysterious. The composer's
arrangements on the 25-piece orchestras unveil his talent
to create descriptive themes with
passion and skilfulness. He also uses jazz sextets to
fashion a cosmopolitan
atmosphere with easy and groovy tracks.
The sound has been transferred from the
original master tapes in 96kh/24bit and mastered in
class-A equipment in order to produce excellent audio
quality.
